  1. Thank you so much for writing this blog. I am currently in the pre-op stage for the VSG. I’m loving reading about your journey and just how well you are doing. Keep up the great work and look forward to following your journey! 🙂

  2. Thank you so much for doing this! I’ve read and enjoyed your journey. It’s also helped answer some questions I had being in the pre-op stage of VSG. It’s nice to know others feel some of the same ways I feel about food and eating. Thanks again!

    • Hi there.
Thanks for stopping by and posting a comment. I appreciate your kind words.
Congratulations on making the decision – it’s not easy, is it?
Do you have a date yet? Let me know if you have any questions – I’m more than happy to help.
      Thanks, again!

      • No, not yet. The insurance red tape is driving me nuts! I should know a little more in the next week or two. Did you experience any challenges with insurance? Fingers crossed it gets rolling. The anxiety/excitement alone can drive me right to the pantry!

  3. Hi, I enjoy reading your blog, I am in the beginning stages of appointments etc with no surgery date yet. I am beyond scared I am doing the right thing and enjoy reading what you are going through!

    • Hi, Lynn! Thanks for stopping by.
I know how you feel – I really do. Scared one minute, anxious at times and excited at others. I think it’s totally normal.
Feel free to contact me and ask questions – I’m here to help.
      Best of luck to you!

      • My new thing is…should I do the sleeve or the band. I thought I had my mind made up with the sleeve. I need a new hobby because this is all I am thinking about and I don’t have much support at all at home. ugh

      • I went to my first appointment sure I wanted the band, then changed my mind to the sleeve. My reasoning was this – with the bad, there’s a lot of filling/unfilling and you have that foreign object in your body. My doc has drastically reduced the number of hands she does. The other thing is, with the sleeve, IF something goes wrong, you can have a Plan B (bypass or roux-en-Y). That helped put my mind at rest.
At the end of the day, you need to do what’s right for you. The sleeve is great for me!

      • I have no regrets what-so-ever.
Sure I have days where I wish I could pig out – you know, those emotional days where you use food for comfort. The sleeve is doing it’s job – it stope me from losing control.
Short of marrying my husband and having my son, this is the best decision of my life. I am so glad I did it – my only regret is not doing it sooner!

      • I think it is good to document your journey – even if it isn’t a blog you put our for others to read. I journal, I take lots of pictures, I take measurements, etc. It is nice to reflect back on things – I will even go back and read my old posts sometimes…:-)
